Justin Timberlake Performs Another Free Show in N.Y.C.

He's bringing music back!

Though he's been primarily focused on acting lately, Justin Timberlake apparently felt the need to remind fans that singing is his first passion, playing his second free show in 24 hours at New York City's Irving Plaza Thursday night. Timberlake was there to support FreeSol, whose album is out on his Tennman Records label, and who played a full set before his performance.

"For the record, I'm not trying to be a serious actor," the Friends With Benefits star joked at one point in the night, before singing a bar of his Saturday Night Live Emmy-winning "D--- in a Box."

Doors to the 1,200-person venue opened at about 9:15 p.m., and the show got underway shortly after 11 p.m., with the singer playing keyboards and singing backup for the band FreeSol before taking the stage himself.

Over the course of about an hour, Timberlake ran through his hits, including "What Goes Around," "Dead and Gone," and "Cry Me a River," which he performed solo with a guitar.

After playing a shortened version of "Like I Love You," from his first solo album, the 30-year-old quipped: "I'm getting too old for this."

Fans were so enthusiastic that Timberlake stopped singing at several points in the show, letting the crowd take over.

FreeSol returned to the stage at one point for a cover of the Rolling Stones' "Miss You," with Timberlake on lead guitar.
