Bob Mewse on Google Street View
According to a report in U.K. newspaper the Telegraph, the British man caught sight of himself on Google Street View, a mapping tool that provides panoramic view of areas throughout the world, and was inspired to drop 98 lbs.
"I was horrified when I saw that photo," Mewse, 56, of Bristol, England, told the Telegraph. "I was massive. My belly was sticking out and I looked huge."
At the time of the photo, Mewse weighed 297 lbs.
After years of indulging in sweets and fast food, he decided to change his diet and start working out, joining a gym and hiring a personal trainer who put Mewse on an exercise program and helped him eat healthier.
He used to suffer from high blood pressure and back problems due to his obesity. But now, he says, losing a third of his body weight has done wonders for his health.
"If I can do this, anybody can – I'm just an ordinary bloke," he says. "I feel much healthier now."
