"The show's going to be great. The show has been very consistent and I'm just one part of this ensemble," Carell, who's currently starring on the big screen in Dinner for Shmucks, tells Parade.com. "The show is so strong and has such good writers, it will continue to be great. So the show's not going anywhere."
While that's good news for fans of The Office, leaving the show after seven seasons will be bittersweet for Carell, who plays Michael Scott, the regional manager of the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company.
"I will miss all my friends," Carell says. "We've known each other now for seven, eight years. I mean, it's been a long time since the time we shot the pilot until now, so that's by far what I'll miss the most, the friendships that I've gained there."
As for his character, "I hope he ends up happy," Carell says. "I hope that he finds whatever he's looking for. We'll see, you never know." --Aaron Parsley
